More than 4,000 returns on Christmas Day

Statistics concerning the submission of 2010/11 tax returns over the 2011 festive period:

• Christmas Eve - 4,115, including 44 between 11pm and midnight
• Christmas Day - 1,100
• Boxing Day - 3,512
• New Year’s Eve - 11,648, of which 102 were sent between 11pm and midnight
• New Year’s Day - 8,935
