Views requested on restricting pensions tax relief

Further to the Budget announcement that the Government intends to go ahead with the plan to raise revenues by restricting pensions tax relief, but that it has reservations about the approach adopted in Finance Act 2010, it is considering an alternative approach involving the reform of existing allowances, including a significantly reduced annual allowance.

The Government would like to hear from interested parties as to how such reform should proceed, to enable legislation to be made in the autumn. Anyone who wishes to be involved should contact Jack Parker.
