16 November 2009: Taxation.co.uk reports that the Treasury has backtracked on its plan to withdraw equitable liability. The department announces that the concession will become law 'at the earliest opportunity'.

12 January 2009 (56 days later): Keith Gordon's e-petition demanding the retention of equitable liability closes for signatures.

2 March 2010 (49 days later): Number 10 responds to Keith's campaign, explaining how people's objections 'helped us better understand how withdrawing [equitable liability] would affect vulnerable taxpayers'.
