Stamp duty land tax
Ivan Lewis said that 974,012 stamp duty land tax returns were processed electronically between 1 October 2004 and 30 September 2005. This resulted in 251,805 forms SDLT8 being issued requesting further information, which equates to 25.85% of the returns processed. This number has reduced to approximately 15%, and HMRC is continuing 'to work to reduce the incidents'.
