What can you write in 68,000 words?
A short novel? More than enough for George Orwell to write Animal Farm for example. About enough to write the four Christian gospels, nearly enough for the Quran.

About four copies of Taxation magazine.
Or one set of HMRC Budget Notes. 270 pages, 107 separate notes, and just over 68,000 words in total.

That's not including the speech, the press releases, the Red Book or the supplementary documents.
Just the Budget Notes.
Simplification? No sign of it yet.
