Across the pond, the proposed ‘botax’ on cosmetic surgery has gone under the knife and been transformed into a levy on tans.
A 10% tax has been mooted for businesses that offer the use of sunbeds and tanning booths.

The tanning tax is expected to raise $2.7 billion over ten years.
A spokesperson for Senate majority leader Harry Reid claimed the decision to switch from the botax was ‘based on the more compelling health concerns with indoor tanning services’.
