Apparently, 'nearly one in two accountancy staff in the UK are thought to be at risk from data theft at work, because they are using an out of date web browser'.
According to research by Ulysses IT, which uses the disconcertingly vague term 'computer support company' to describe itself, 45% per cent of all internet users (who, the firm has cleverly surmised, include accountants) don’t keep their Internet Explorer (IE), Firefox or whatever up to date.
Meanwhile, people wise enough to be running the new-fangled IE7 are
struggling to view statements on the HMRC website.

Your choice, then: run the risk of being hacked, or face the more likely (though less damaging) problem of having your day-to-day work stalled.
