Taxation's week begins with a laugh thanks to an email from the mysterious Avacado Kisses who, despite the whimsical name, clearly has the sharp eye of the cynical tax pro. He/she directs us to an unfortunate typo in explanatory note 14 to sc 27 of the latest Finance Bill:
'This charge is in addition to the tax liability for the year in question on any income and gains remitted to the UK, and any UK income or gains taxed on the arsing basis'. (Blogger's emphasis.)
'My clients have long believed that they are taxed on the arsing basis,' adds Avacado. Thanks for the giggle, old fruit.
