I have to admit that it was a good idea, and if Taxation use it at a later date, well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
But if you are going to promise chocolates, then you have to deliver.
At the CIOT's University of Warwick (in Coventry...) residential conference last weekend, the Friday night dinner was sponsored by CCH. (The better one on the Saturday night, with a guest speaker, is of course always sponsored by LexisNexis!)
CCH had the bright idea of leaving a nicely printed card at each place saying 'please accept the chocolates with our compliments' - you can see a photo of it here.
Unfortunately, as you can also see in the photo, the 'chocolates' concerned were - or rather was - one small square.
Obviously a marketing campaign executed by a diet fanatic...
