Did you spot the mistake in the Treasury guidance on the changes to company car tax?

Paragraph 1.4 of the Overview of Tax Legislation and Rates said that the car benefit percentages would be 'reduced' by one per cent for all but the greenest cars.

It should, of course, have said 'increased', as it did in the Red Book.

A quick search on the web shows that most of the press spotted the error, and the LexisNexis Budget summary got it right (of course).

However, some accountancy firms seem to have cut and pasted the original text onto their websites, and possibly into their client newsletters.

It may be too late to do anything about the latter, but check your websites and amend if necessary!
