I see that Loloahi Tapui, the Tongan national who was Lady Scotland’s housekeeper, has been convicted of fraud for conning the latter into employing her as a housekeeper and dogwalker, despite not having permission to work in the UK and having overstayed her student visa.

Still, it wasn’t all bad news for Ms Tapui as she has sold her story for £95,000 – less of course the commission paid to Max Clifford.

I wonder if HMRC will be taking an interest in this payment and – assuming this was paid before 6 April – whether any deportation is likely to take place before 31 January 2011?
