Sometimes, politicians and HMRC officials pompously pontificate about tax planning schemes, which mean that some taxpayers do not pay their fair(!) share of tax.
It would seem that these people are almost personally responsible for the lack of tax funds for schools and hospitals, blah blah.
Never fond of holier-than-thou attitudes, I was interested to hear that most holier-than-thou of super
heroes refer to this purpose of taxation himself, while I was casually flicking across the Freeview channels the other night.
None other than Batman himself (alias Adam West) ticked off Robin, who had suggested that the owner of the Batmobile should not have to put money in the parking meter (the dynamic duo having parked by one in their latest attempt to ensnare some arch villain).
No, said Batman, this money goes towards the building of roads, etc, and not even Batman can be exempt from paying towards all that.
