The writers at Taxation are pleased to see The Guardian and The Sunday Times following our example by (belatedly) reporting, at decent length, on the Christopher Lunn & Co case, the result of which was announced yesterday.

As our editor, Mike, pointed out last week, the matter has significant importance for tax agents and their relationship with the Revenue – which is why Taxation has provided comprehensive coverage.

The nationals' interest in a judicial review brought by a firm of East Sussex accountants is less clear... until one learns the name of one of the clients affected and begins to suspect that the column inches spared by both papers have been little more than glorified picture captions.

The person in question – featured prominently in both stories – is a former, extremely fragrant, Taxation Awards host.
