Excellent story here in Accountancy Age about an unfortunate HMRC call centre employee, presumably with about six weeks' experience, telling Richard Mannion that Richard 'didn't understand the tax coding system'.

As the Age points out, that's the Richard Mannion with '30-years of accountancy experience, time as president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a taxation lifetime achievement gong'.

A what? Oh, come on boys, we print your name, surely you can print ours?

That's a 'LexisNexis Taxation Awards lifetime achievement' gong.

Which, ironically enough, was given to him for, among other things, his leading role in setting up Working Together.
