Looking through this week’s copy of Taxation, I see that there is an advert for the Taxation Awards 2008.
Ah, my annual chance to schmooze with the tax world, see what’s going on.
According to the ad, it's a black tie event.
Right, better go up into the attic this weekend and dig out the old DJ (dinner jacket, not Tony Blackburn – but if you’d seen my attic you’d realise that there’s a fair chance that he could be up there somewhere as well).
Next problem: may need to go on a crash diet to get into said suit.
This is when I realise where all those Friday afternoon cherry Bakewell tarts have gone!
