We want tax advisers readers to write to their MPs to complain about the Revenue's postal delays...

From: Patricia J Arnold

To: Guy Opperman, MP for Hexham

Dear Mr Opperman,

Taxation magazine is running a campaign called Right to a Reply, and we would like your assistance with this.

The editor of Taxation has asked accountants to write to their MPs to lobby David Gauke at the Treasury, to reply to our heartfelt pleas with regard to the unacceptable delays we are experiencing with the Revenue in their dealings with agents' correspondence regarding our tax clients.

We have had personal experience of huge delays for clients with tax credit issues, trying to register, loss carry back problems and ascertaining what tax is due, to mention just some instances.

I enclose a copy of the article from Taxation that includes an open letter to Mr Gauke requesting his response.

We would be grateful if you could use all your powers of persuasion to get him to answer our questions as soon as possible, as he seems to be taking longer than HMRC to get back to us all!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards.

Yours sincerely,

Patricia J Arnold BA FCA, for and on behalf of PJ Arnold
