Venture capital schemes examined

A new consultation seeks views on the government’s reforms and expansions of the tax-advantaged venture capital schemes. It also considers some possible changes to the schemes, including options to accommodate the use of convertible loans, and a more principled approach to the exclusion of very low-risk investment opportunities.

VAT toolkits

HMRC have published the updated partial exemption, input and output toolkits. Each checklist includes a new facility allowing reference notes to be added and saved electronically or printed.

NISAs

HMRC’s guidance notes for ISA managers have been updated to reflect the new individual savings accounts changes announced in this year’s Budget.

MOSS event

Video highlights of the recent HMRC seminar on VAT changes on e-services taking effect on 1 January 2015 are now available along with powerpoint presentations.

SDLT urgency route

HMRC have introduced a new email route for two-day urgency SDLT certificates in Scotland.
