Must rent received after the end of the tax year of death be treated as estate income?
During 2014/15 a client received a partial distribution from her father’s estate. He was a Guernsey resident and died early in the tax year. This distribution included some capital and some rental income from a Guernsey property which has been paid into the estate since her father died. I have asked her father’s executor to provide a statement of the income received and the Guernsey tax paid on it.

My question is that there was also some rental income from a second property in Guernsey which was received by the letting agent but was not paid into the estate before the end of the tax year.

Would I be correct in thinking that from a UK tax perspective this would still count as income received by the estate within the tax year and so form...
