Celebrity Tax Trials

Idea for a new TV reality show: a cross between Big Brother, I’m a Celebrity… , The X Factor, Daily Politics and Judge Judy – with a tax twist.

A series of celebs known for having tangled with HMRC are made to live alone in an abandoned Revenue office, where they are put under immense physical and emotional stress for a week, at the end of which they are given the chance to restate their past case in front of a tax tribunal made up of tabloid journalists and rent-a-quote politicians.

Viewers then vote – via a premium rate phone number – on whether the ruling should be for or against the famous face.

THRILL to the spectacle of Kerry Katona weeping at the feet of the Daily Mail’s satanic editor, Paul Dacre.

BE GRIPPED by a heavily soiled Jimmy Carr plunging into a catatonic state under a barrage of sanctimonious nonsense from Margaret Hodge MP.

HOWL with self-satisfied laughter as Wesley Snipes, bleeding and terrified, attempts to have his conviction for tax evasion overturned (US version).

Hosted by Richard Murphy and Zoe Ball.

All offers of funding to be sent to Taxation’s Sutton office.
