First impressions of final spring Budget

The response to the final spring Budget at ‘Taxation Towers’ could probably be summed up in the title. Perhaps it was just us. However the 8 March had been billed as the last spring Budget – well the last spring Budget until the next last spring Budget – but I think we were expecting Philip Hammond to mark the occasion with at least a few fireworks. Perhaps there will be fireworks once the implications have sunk in for the millions of small businesses that are working in ‘a labour market delivering record employment’ and on which I suspect he is relying in his ‘plan to prepare Britain for a brighter future’.
In his opening statement Mr Hammond also said that ‘we are building the foundations of a stronger fairer more global Britain’. Quite whether small businesses will feel that way is...
