A Taxmas Carol

Ebenezer Scrooge ACA danced merrily around his office singing ‘A Taxmas Carol’:

‘He’s making a list

‘He’s checking it twice.

‘He’s going to find out

‘Who’s naughty or nice.

‘Tax Inspector’s coming to town.’

He bounded over to his computer and logged into the government gateway full of joy and optimism a neat pile of papers beside him ready for the annual ritual of completing his return. Suddenly a deep thudding noise came from the front door. He was about to answer it when his oldest but recently departed friend Jacob Marley (CTA Dec’d) floated through the door. A semi-transparent figure tied up in red ribbons weighed down by huge yellow and orange-coloured law books so heavy he could barely move.
