Pilot opens to all businesses mandated to use Making Tax Digital for VAT from April.
HMRC has extended its Making Tax Digital for VAT pilot so that all VAT-registered entities have the chance to test their accounting systems before 1 April. From then VAT-registered businesses with income above the VAT threshold (£85 000) will be required to maintain their accounting records using software and to file their VAT returns directly from it.
In advance of mandation eligible businesses are encouraged to join the pilotwhich is now open to all businesses that will have to use MTD from April.
