The adoption of cloud-based software was put into overdrive by the pandemic. Even before Covid-19 tax advisers were gaining real benefits from cloud technology; reducing technical complexity increasing their agility supporting flexible working and improving their ability to respond to changing customer demands.

However advisers have faced challenges with the unpredictability thrown up by the pandemic. Added to this they and their clients have had to prepare for evolving making tax digital (MTD) legislative changes. While the first phase is now in full swing tax advisers must prepare for the next phases in 2022 and 2023.
