The Chartered Institute of Taxation's autumn residential tax update conference will take place on 7 to 9 September 2001 at the University of Nottingham.

Speakers include: Peter Gravestock on stakeholder pensions; Peter Legg on trusts; Andrew Hubbard will consider the taxation of smaller companies; John Roberts on money laundering; Paul Harrison and the Revenue's Adrian Turner will cover corporation tax self assessment; Jenny Nelder will speak on share valuations; David Williams – limited liability partnerships; and Rebecca Benneyworth will review IR35.

New recruit

Stephen Allcock QC has joined PricewaterhouseCoopers' private client tax practice where he will advise high net worth individuals, and be in-house legal counsel to the department. He was previously in practice at Pump Court Tax Chambers.
