Overtime ban
Overtime ban
Up to 60,000 Inland Revenue staff have been on an overtime ban since a November ballot because, in December 2001, the Revenue opted to impose the 2001 pay offer rather than continue further negotiations. The pay offer had been rejected because it failed to remedy problems with workers' progression through the pay grade system. It can take members up to 15 years to go from the minimum to maximum pay within their grade because there is no time-scale for progression. Employees are also concerned at the potential closures of local offices, and the lack of training.
