The evolution of the FAQ approach to the dissemination of technical information now seems to have taken firm root in the life of all taxation advisers. Am I alone in wondering who poses these questions and why they never seem to ask the question I am seeking to resolve whenever I consult the oracle?

I think the editor should invite readers to contribute to the following list of questions that the tax profession as a whole would like to ask. For what it is worth I have attempted to supply a first draft of the suggested answers but no doubt these will all be edited out or toned down in the production process.
