HMRC enabling telephone calls re deadline; money spent on developing HMRC brand

Enabling calls

In the run up to 31 January 2007, HMRC selected 853,158 taxpayers to receive enabling telephone calls to remind them about the self assessment deadline. Some 200 employees were involved in making the calls at a cost of £350,000. Dawn Primarolo said that approximately 10% of taxpayers contacted had already submitted their returns.
