CT Online service

CT online

From 27 June 2007, companies will be able to use the links within the 'About your organisation' page to:

  • change company name (unincorporated companies only);
  • change company address (unincorporated companies only);
  • add or change contact details;
  • add or delete communication details;
  • add/change/delete an agent (companies only).

All features except 'add/change/delete an agent' are available to companies and authorised agents acting on their behalf. In addition, agents will be able to change their own address and their own contact details.
In order to access the 'About your organisation' page, HMRC say that users should log in as normal if they are already registered to use the CT Online service or they can register for the service.
HMRC say that using this feature is secure and any changes made will update the company's online records and HMRC's tax office records within 48 hours (although this may take longer over a weekend or a bank holiday).
With regard to Windows Vista/XP users with Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), HMRC say that the functionality enabling them to amend their details has not yet been optimised to run under IE7. As a result, the web pages may not present correctly. However, despite the way the pages may look, these facilities do function correctly. HMRC ask that these users do not contact them regarding this problem as they will be optimising the product for IE7 users in the near future.
This autumn, HMRC say that the facility to change contact details online will be extended to PAYE Online users and their authorised agents, self assessment trusts and partnerships and their agents, and agents acting for self assessment individuals, who use the SA Online service.
