JITSIC opens in London

JITSIC in London

The Joint International Tax Shelter Information Centre opened its London centre on 10 September. Hosted by HMRC, the office will include a delegate from the centre's newest member, Japan. JITSIC London and JITSIC Washington will work together as a single office.

JITSIC is an international initiative to identify and curb tax avoidance and shelters and those who promote and invest in them. HMRC's Dave Hartnett said: 'JITSIC is already rising to the challenges posed by international tax avoidance in its increasingly cunning and complex forms. The understanding gained and exchanged will materially benefit every taxpayer who prefers to play by the rules'.
