Taxation.co.uk remains a mystery to some readers. Its editor, DANIEL SELWOOD, offers enlightenment

It had been a slow week. When I hadn't been steering clear of colleagues suffering from the autumn sniffles I'd been reading and writing about the ongoing CGT saga.

Speculation followed conjecture followed rumour — and the whole issue began to create the head-swimming effect of the cold I'd so conscientiously avoided.

Then around Thursday some good news: the results of our website's most recent survey showed that the majority of users were true fans.

A whopping 65% of respondents said they frequented Taxation.co.uk regularly either every day or at least once a week. Only one-fifth of users rarely visited. This web editor was quietly pleased.

An unknown quantity

But hang on! What about the silent majority the numerous loyal Taxation subscribers who don't click to our website at all? They're out there we're certain. My fellow members of staff often alert friends acquaintances...
