HMRC say that they are in the process of finalising their guidance on the registration process in respect of the money laundering regulations (MLR) for trust or company service providers (TCSPs) and accounting service providers (ASPs).
In the meantime, they recommend that ASPs who have not yet registered should not send HMRC their forms now, but wait for a new application deadline of a minimum of four weeks from the date on which updated guidance is published.
With regard to TCSPs, those which are business address providers or mail box suppliers should submit their registration application to HMRC now, and include any applications for the fit and proper test.
All other TCSPs should not send in their forms yet, but wait for a new application deadline of a minimum of four weeks from the date on which updated guidance is published.
Further HMRC updates will be posted on the department website's MLR section.
