A client has moved from receiving commission for her own online purchases to receiving commission on the purchases of her friends and others

My client registered on a cashback-type website a few months ago which provides her with her own ‘online shopping centre’.

This means that she receives commission on many things that she or her husband spend online.

She has also recommended some of her friends and family to do the same and register for their own ‘online shopping centre’.

As a reward for recommending others she receives an element of commission on what her friends spend online.

Similarly if the friends refer people my client receives commission on what they spend – and so on – out to I believe a chain of seven referrals.

The amounts are not large and my client sees this as pocket money.
