Taxation – The Game

17 December 2008 / Richard Curtis
Issue: 4187 / Categories: Comment & Analysis
Trying to imagine what you are going to do over the Christmas holiday without tax? We have the answer: RICHARD CURTIS introduces the Taxation game

KEY POINTS

  • It’s a game: don’t take it too seriously.
  • It’s fun for all the family!
  • Get your friends and relatives interested in tax.
  • ‘Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.’

Right then imagine the scene. It’s 2.30pm on Christmas Day. You’ve just finished your lunch the presents are unwrapped and now you and the family are slumped in front of the television waiting for the Queen’s Christmas message.

That awkward silence descends: what to do in this spare half hour until you can watch her majesty before breaking out the sherry and mince pies and settling down to watch The Great Escape Bridge on the River Kwai or whatever other seasonal movie is being shown this year.

As in every other week of the year Taxation is here to help solve your problems...
