Chancellor Alistair Darling will make his Budget statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday 22 April, at 12.30pm.
The Treasury recently hinted that the Budget would be delayed until the new financial year, after the G20 summit of world leaders on 2 April.
Liberal Democrat shadow Chancellor Vince Cable remarked that 'Alistair Darling is like a schoolboy struggling to get his homework in on time. Simply moving the deadline will not stop the Government having to finally make an honest assessment of the recession'.
