April and May are the busiest and perhaps the most stressful months in the payroll calendar.

Normally everyone involved in processing the payroll is busy finalising the tax year end returns as well as juggling with all the new requirements for the new tax year and processing the payroll.

Not only are we trying to get to grips with all the changes to National Insurance increases to statutory payments and a new emergency tax code but there are also changes to tax bands and the online submission of starter and leaver information. More of this later.
