New rates from October
The new national minimum wage hourly rates to take effect in October have been published by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform:
- The rate for workers aged 22 and over is increased from £5.73 to £5.80.
- The rate for 18 to 21-year-olds will rise from £4.77 to £4.83.
- For 16 and 17-year-olds, the rate will go from £3.53 to £3.57.
