Minister announces non-dom figures for 2008/09

Initial figures suggest that around 4,600 individuals paid the remittance basis charge of £30,000 for 2008/09, according to the financial secretary to the Treasury.

Approximately 103,000 taxpayers claimed non-domicile status for the tax year, 74,000 of whom were UK resident, said Stephen Timms in reply to a written parliamentary question.
