National minimum wage

New rates from 1 October

A new national minimum wage (NMW) rate will be introduced for apprentices for pay reference periods starting on or after 1 October.

From the same date 21-year-olds will become entitled to the main rate of NMW. Currently only workers aged 22 and over are entitled to the main rate.

Full details will be published on the Businesslink website.

For pay reference periods starting on or after 1 October the new rates will be as shown below.
