HMRC will continue not to enquire into benefits in kind

HMRC will continue not to enquire into benefits in kind reported for accountancy fees for preparing tax returns of £650 for UK and home country returns and £250 a head for UK-only returns, according to the minutes of a recent meeting of the joint expatriate forum on tax and National Insurance.

This only applies for fully tax equalised employees and does not cover the cost of TMA 1970, s 9A enquires which should be reported in full.

The level of fees would be reviewed again in 2013/14.
