Isle of Man TIEAs; NI cards; Pensions; Data gathering; Class 2 NI

IoM TIEAs

As part of the Isle of Man government’s programme of signing tax information exchange agreements (TIEAs), its Treasury minister has signed agreements with Japan and Indonesia. These mean the island has 23 TIEAs and 27 agreements in total that meet the OECD international standard on tax co-operation and transparency.

NI cards

From July 2011, HMRC will stop issuing National Insurance number cards to adults.

Pensions

Pension Schemes Newsletter 47 has been updated to provide additional information on the meaning of expected pension.

Data gathering

The draft Data-Gathering Powers Regulations 2011 and explanatory commentary have been published. Comments are invited by 30 September 2011.

Class 2 NI

The collection of Class 2 National Insurance contributions has been aligned with self assessment and has moved to six-monthly billing. Therefore no Class 2 payment request will be issued in July 2011. The next request will be posted in October 2011.
