New guidance on the reduced rate of inheritance tax for charitable gifts has now been published in HMRC’s Inheritance Tax Manual.

The Income Tax (PAYE) (Amendment No 2) Regulations 2012 (2012/1895) have been laid before Parliament and came into force on 9 August 2012.
New numbers
HMRC are changing the way corporation taxpayers contact the department by telephone. From 17 September 2012, most calls about corporation tax will be routed to one of two contact centres based in Cardiff and Glasgow.
Duty free notice
HMRC have published an easy read version of VAT Notice 704/1 about tax free shopping in the UK to help overseas visitors get a VAT refund on goods they buy while they are in the UK.
