Owner managed businesses

Paul Howard kicked off the conference by looking at the changes to dividends and company distributions reminding delegates that the dividend tax credit was discontinued from 6 April 2016. He also explained how the new £5 000 dividend tax allowance will work in practice and demonstrated a situation where a taxpayer could receive up to £22 000 free of income tax by a combination of salary interest and dividends.
