Pensions
The latest edition of HMRC’s Countdown bulletin is available. Issue 18 contains information on National Insurance services to the pensions industry, including the scheme reconciliation service.
MOSS
HMRC has published Information Sheet 4/16: VAT MOSS – exchange rates for period ending June 2016 . It contains details of some of the most used currency exchange rates needed by mini-one-stop-shop (MOSS) businesses registered in the UK, so they can complete declarations and make payments to HMRC in sterling.
RPI
The retail price index for May 2016 is 262.1.
Tax credits
The deadline for renewing tax credits is 31 July. HMRC reports that 1.5 million people have renewed already with 500,000 using the online facility. See here.
Seafarers
HMRC has updated the guidance for claiming a seafarers’ NT code to include an online application process.
Double tax treaties
A comprehensive double taxation convention between the UK and Algeria, signed in London on 18 February 2015, entered into force on 16 June 2016.
