Is it too late to reclaim VAT on work invoiced through a limited company?
 
I always worked through an umbrella company mainly because I did not understand the tax process fully. However last year I left my previous umbrella company and set up a limited company using the services of a large accountancy firm. It helped incorporate my company and do the necessary VAT registration flat-rate scheme insurance and so on.
 
About a month later I joined an agency on a short-term contract. I invoiced the agency each week and was paid a daily rate for five days each week.
 
Fast forward 56 weeks and I have now finished the contract and have started another one for a new client. Because I thought the accountancy firm’s services were not good value after a year I decided to move to a new practice that was recommended by...
