The year 2016 will probably be remembered as the one when politics stopped being irrelevant. On 23 June the British people unexpectedly voted to leave the EU. This seemed as likely as Donald Trump winning the US presidency and Bob Dylan being awarded a Nobel Prize.
 
Apple also decided to leave the EU and relocate its head office in the UK. This followed a European Commission ruling that the company had received €13bn in illegal state aid by paying tax at rates as low...
