Specialist investigations for fraud and bespoke avoidance: Code of Practice 8.

HMRC has updated Code of Practice 8 and has added a new public statement. It reads: ‘HMRC may observe, monitor, record and retain internet data which is available to anyone.’ This is known as open source material and includes Land Registry and Companies House records, blogs and social networking sites on which no privacy settings have been applied.
