Partnership pack: preparing for a 'no deal' EU exit.

HMRC has published a pack for businesses explaining customs processes and procedures that are likely to apply if the UK leaves the EU without a trade deal.

The guidance is intended to help with contingency planning in particular to:

  • consider how they will need to adapt their business to comply with new systems processes and controls;
  • assess the impact of the increased demand for customs declarations on their business;
  • consider whether they need to recruit and train extra staff; and
  • stay up to date with these changes.

The pack includes information on what to expect on day one after a ‘no deal’ exit for different categories of businesses such as traders exporting to the EU traders importing from the bloc traders exporting to or importing from the rest of world...
