Calling new tax writers!

The London Tax Society and Taxation magazine present the 2021 Young Professionals Tax Writing Competition.

All entrants must be within ten years of achieving their most recent professional qualification at 30 September 2021 and work in a tax-related technical field.

Entrants can write on one of the following topics:

  • Tax ‘avoision’ - where do we draw the line?
  • HMRC powers - too many or not enough?

Entries should be 1600 words long and the deadline is Thursday 30 September 2021.

The judges are:

  • Andrew Hubbard, Taxation editor-in-chief
  • Allison Plager, Taxation deputy editor
  • Keith Gordon, barrister at Temple Tax Chambers
  • Mala Kapacee, director of London Tax Network Ltd and founder of London Tax Society.

The winning article will be published in Taxation magazine and the writer will also receive a £100 gift card.

The runner up will have their article published on the LTS website and receive a £75 gift card.
