A recent HMRC one-to-many letter campaign is directed at tax agents with five or more clients who have not yet filed a self-assessment (SA) tax return for 2022-23, despite having been issued with a notice to file.

An HMRC spokesperson said: 'We're writing to agents to remind them that their clients still need to file tax returns for the 2022-23 tax year. We regularly undertake activity to educate, remind or prompt agents to help them get their clients’ tax right.'

The department confirmed it is sending self-assessment reminder letters to around 1282 agents.

A copy of the letter can be found on the CIOT website.
