Ordinary share capital and loss of entrepreneurs’ relief

The First-tier Tribunal rejected a claim to capital gains tax entrepreneurs’ relief because the taxpayer held less than 5% of the ordinary share capital of a company. This was despite his having more than 5% of the voting rights. This case is covered in Kevin Slevin’s article, ‘Pointless?’.
